Another possible reason for the iPhone 12 mini’s failure can be presumed due to the popularity of iPhone SE and iPhone 11. Their flourishment in the market overpowered the launch of the iPhone 12 mini. The iPhone SE and iPhone 11 series accounted for 50% of all iPhones sold in the tentative year 2020. The iPhone SE’s launch price was $399, and the iPhone 11 was $599, which is quite affordable compared to the cost of the new iPhone 12 mini, starting at $699. Their similarity in the features offered has resulted in this decline in sales.

Apple has recently released the virtual date of their event for 2021, which is on 16 March. The products that would be included are iPads, Air pods 3, Apple TV, and iMac. Later this year, Apple is planning for the release of all-new Apple iWatch and iPhone 13. The primary concern here is the release of an all-new iPhone 13. Since the mini is not fetching Apple enough, they need to make space for the better to come. This is why the iPhone 12 mini production is about to be ceased and shifted to iPhone 12 pro as they are on the better side of sales in the current market, helping them make space for the production of iPhone 13.

Yang has possibly predicted Apple being ready to ship 80 to 90 million of the iPhone 13 units in 2021 after its launch around June. Apple has recently revealed the launch of four models in the iPhone 13 variant to flourish around in the market after its launch. The only information that Apple has provided is that the display sizes and styles would be the same as their predecessors but with a pinch of new Apple technology that is expected to help them capture the market.
